About the Treasures of Hope Program
Teenagers today face a climate of heightened pressure to engage in sexual activity. They are constantly bombarded with images and messages about sex. The result has been an increased level of premarital sexual activity with devastating consequences: out-of-wedlock child bearing, sexually transmitted diseases, emotional problems, and promiscuity among under-aged youth.
Esperanza, through its Tesoros de Esperanza program is educating young people about healthy behaviors and providing them with resources, information, and support to learn about the benefits of sexual abstinence until marriage. We are creating an environment that allows teens to commit to an abstinent lifestyle and be prepared for future healthy marriages.

What We Offer

Abstinence Classes
Abstinence Classes are held in schools, faith-based and community organizations. The program consists of eight informative and interactive training sessions.

Mentoring Gatherings
Tesoros selects young people who exhibit leadership, character, and are committed to the abstinence lifestyle and message, to participate in monthly trainings to become youth mentors.

Assemblies
The program holds abstinence presentations for larger groups of teens in local middle and high schools, community and faith-based organizations.

Teen Rally
This is a celebratory event to re-enforce the abstinence message and affirm accomplishments of the Tesoros program participants and their friends.

Parent Education Seminars-Abstinence 101
During these interactive workshops, parents obtain resources and learn techniques to ease the communication barriers between them and their children regarding sexual context.
